Resumen

This article analyses the debate on new paradigms of the profissional education in the realm of the social processes. In this context it emphasizes evaluation as an strategic element for the democratization of the educational and social processes, inline with theoretical references related to the social sciences, specially those developed by Pierre Bourdieu, in what concerns the fields of education and economics as well as the relations between them, in the context of contemporary capitalism. The article also discusses possible differences between the so-called pedagogy of competences and other methodological approaches within the scenario of professional education.
