This article deals with the situation of the workers toiling in the Samba Schools’ sheds in the city of Rio de Janeiro, facing the process of consolidation of a flexible accumulation pattern . It analyzes the crisis of Fordism and the constitution of that pattern of flexible accumulation, focusing on the strategic importance of culture in this new stage of capitalist development. It points out the impacts of the constitution of this new accumulation pattern on the forms of work organization, and examines how the new labor market configuration interferes with workers’ human dimension.Downloads
